Did you hear? Google’s launching a new, upgraded version of its search engine soon. Google promises that the new search tool (codename “Caffeine”) will improve the speed, accuracy, size, and comprehensiveness of Google search.

The launch of Bing has been a challenge in more ways than one for Google. Under pressure to come up to speed with the changes in Search Engine Marketing and the rampant abuse of the search engines by sauve Internet Marketers, Google designed it clear that the future of search will be dictated by Google Caffeine. Well, the prpject sounds so exciting. And as time passes, these whispers of launch of Google Caffeine gain acceptance.

What do you know about Google Caffeine and how are you able to develope the most of an impending opportunity?

Before discussing what we know about Google Caffeine, let us spend a minute thinking about the intent of Google. With the FTC banking down on affiliates strongly, Google was already determined to concentrate on ranking higher those sites that have better content than better backlinks. In other words, the on-page optimization considerations will take a very pivotal role in ranking of websites. What this means is that the backlinks will continue to enjoy a role in rankings, however the overall rank will be a blend of on-page and off-page optimization rather than the present scenario.

The aim is to end up with a google search that is cleaner, more relevant and friendly to the users. And eventually, break the cartel of spammers who put half-baked facts on the web.

While nobody knows what will Caffeine bring, there are some rough assumptions that it will follow search ranking criteria that are closer to Bing, and evolve rankings by changing some of the criteria in the Algorithm. With more than 200 ranking criteria in the current algorithm, the ratio of on-page and off-page optimization seems to be headed over to some kind of a rejig.

For now, it seems like most webmasters will benefit whenever Caffeine gets integrated. The value of content should develop a lot of importance, and if the search becomes faster and more relevant we may end up laughing our way to the Bank.

And with Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s Webspam team, at Pubcon Conference, we may see that Caffeine is just around the corner. It is expected that Google Caffeine will bring worth to the good webmasters who vouch for good, and original content. The new Google will only get better as features are put in place and developed. The end result is a better search experience for the user. Apparently, competition really does breed innovation.
